Position Summary:
The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for:
- Initial team member clinical competency training and clinical software education.
- Annual and ongoing clinical team member competency training as needed.
- Oversight, management, and documentation of initial team member education performed through designated software.
- Collaborating with the clinical leadership team to prepare for regulatory surveys.
- Assisting with clinical program development as needed.
- Assisting in competencies, repeat demonstrations, education on the dementia program, new hire onboarding training and education, and assisting in survey preparation as needed.
- Tracking educational activities and monitoring Relias online education compliance.
- Multi-site responsibilities, covering Assisted Living (AL) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
- Home office based in Bellevue, with travel required to all sites.
- Primarily day shifts, but includes occasional evening and night shifts to provide education and competency assessments for those shifts.
Salary:
- Up to $85,000 based on experience.
Position Qualifications:
Education
- Licensed Practical Nurse
Experience
- At least five years of experience in health care.
- Previous clinical education or staff development experience preferred.
- Experience with quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) processes in a long-term care, post-acute care, and/or acute care setting preferred.
Credentials
- Must be licensed in the state of Nebraska or compact state as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- BLS training certification must be completed within 6 months of hire.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds and handle repetitive sitting, bending, and standing movements.
- Requires attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to utilize technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Must be able to travel to multiple work locations.
- Must maintain a current driver’s license and CPR Certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the development and coordination of the clinical education program for the Senior Living Community.
- Assisting with the facilitation of education, competencies, policies, and procedures throughout the onboarding process.
- Assuring that annual competency and education are completed, utilizing all relevant clinical quality improvement initiatives and processes.
- Providing ongoing education to team members to ensure that quality care is a core aspect of the Senior Living Community’s culture.
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all clinical software applications for facility-based operations.
- Managing the selected education software used to complete team member education, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Assisting in tracking education and ensuring compliance with online education via Relias.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assists with educational partnerships for training and collaboration.
- Works collaboratively with the education and administration team to ensure uniformity of training curriculum, training compliance with federal and state regulations, and best practices.
- Assists with the development and delivery of survey readiness and/or plan of correction education for all facilities.
