Focus: Build and maintain data pipelines to enable compliant cross-platform information sharing, aggregation, and de-duplication across PAVE and LEADS while respecting data sensitivity and clearance levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design data pipelines that move information between PAVE and LEADS while respecting privacy constraints.
• Implement de-duplication logic for data records while ensuring compliance with VAWA and other applicable laws.
• Manage data aggregation processes, enabling the generation of de-identified datamarts for statistical analysis.

Skills:

• Experience in designing ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS, working with MongoDB and Neo4j.
• Strong understanding of data privacy practices and compliance requirements for secure data sharing.

About Us: HTI Labs is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge software solutions to combat human trafficking. Our mission is to leverage technology to identify and disrupt human trafficking networks, and we need a dedicated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to help us achieve this goal.

Responsibilities:

• Own and lead data architecture design and implementation activities across HTI Labs’ data platform
• Build and maintain ETL processes into data pipelines that serve diverse end users with different access patterns
  • Important considerations are encryption and sensitive data handling
• Coordinate across data science, compliance, development, and product stakeholders in the design and implementation of schemas and application implementation.
  • Relevant compliance sources include CJIS, SOC 2, and VAWA
• Support and extend existing infrastructure and applications – current stack includes Python, NodeJS, AWS, MongoDB, and Neo4j
• Lead and mentor junior software engineers.
• Extend existing and establish new best practices for data governance, observability, and system documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience with Software Engineering and Event-Driven Design.
• A strong understanding of processing a variety of structured and unstructured data from disparate sources.
• Language Experience in Python is required, experience in Rust will also be beneficial to the role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with experience collaborating in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects from conception to deployment.
